In Waltham Forest we have a very exciting opportunity for an innovative and motivated individual who is keen to contribute to the further development of our service.
Within our 0-19 Structure we work very closely with Schools, PRUs, Children and Family Centre’s, Early Help as well as other agencies to improve outcomes and reducing health inequalities for children, young people and their families in our borough.

We are looking to recruit motivated practitioner with initiative and drive , for 1 day/week.
Candidates will be required to have the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification in School Nursing, hold the Specialist Community Practice Teacher Qualification, and have a minimum of 18 months post registration experience as a School Nurse.
The candidate will demonstrate:
- Knowledge and interest in the health, growth and development of school age children, as well as knowledge of the key policies relating to Public Health and School Nursing, as well as the have good communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate your ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have the ability to plan and implement learning activities, primarily in practice learning environments, for pre and post-registration students facilitating the integration of theory to practice.
- You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team. You need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries. You need to be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
