Would you like to be part of a new innovative care system to enhance the care for people with end of life care need, if so join us in the development of the Enhanced Community Palliative Care Service (ECPCS?) for Waltham Forest?
We are setting up an integrated care system (ICS) which will be supporting people with end of life care needs receive the care needed to achieve their choices and preferences at the end of their life. This model will place patients and families at the centre of their care
The service will work closely with existing providers across health and social care enhancing the care offer.
As a Health Care Assistant in the Enhanced Community Palliative Care Service (ECPCS) the post holder will follow the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in England:
- Be accountable by making sure you can answer for your actions or omissions
- Promote and uphold the privacy, dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of people who use health and care services and their carers at all times.
- Work in collaboration with your colleagues to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare, care and support.
- Communicate in an open and effective way to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of people who use health and care services and their carers.
- Respect a person’s right to confidentiality.
- Strive to improve the quality of healthcare, care and support through continuing professional development.
- Uphold and promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
Applicants must have
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
- Relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Demonstrate a commitment to further learning and development
- Relevant experience in a healthcare setting and base level of theoretic knowledge
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
