If you are a Registered Nurse, who has post registration training (or equivalent experience) in Respiratory Nursing with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience and are enthusiastic and committed to the care of this patient group, this may be the opportunity for you!
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Respiratory Nurse to join the Havering Respiratory Team as a Band 6 Respiratory Specialist Nurse. We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working within a multi-professional team, promoting delivery of a safe, effective and efficient service across Havering who can demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The role supports an integrated approach to patient care, providing Respiratory Nursing assessment and interventions for patients with complex respiratory needs within the community setting whilst working as a valid multi-disciplinary team member. The post holder will also be expected to take part in pulmonary rehabilitation delivering education and support to patients and their families.
The main responsibilities of the post:
•The post holder will provide a high standard of service to patients with respiratory conditions / long-term conditions such as COPD and Asthma in a community setting and raise the profile of respiratory diseases and their management within the organisation and local community.
•The post holder will work autonomously with a complex caseload of patients with a primary respiratory diagnosis for assessment and review.
•The post holder will have a responsibility to contribute to the delivery of respiratory excellence and towards the continuous development of high quality community based respiratory services.
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
