NELFT  Redbridge 0-19 Universal Children’s Services is looking to recruit to the post of Clinical Assistant, Band 3. The role of Clinical Assistant  is to support the 0 -19 Universal Children’s Services  (Health Visiting & School Nursing) in the delivery of the service to children and young people within Redbridge. The post holders will ideally have previous experience of working with children and young people. The role will involve preparing for, supporting and tidying after all child health clinics, weighing babies and young children, point of contact at infant feeding drop ins completing required screening-height, weight, vision and hearing, for children in schools, to maintain accurate records and input data. You should have well-developed communication skills with patients/ colleagues and be able to provide an initial response to patient and other agencies queries, concerns and sign post/direct as appropriate. You will also be able to prioritise your work, be a team player, use your initiative and meet deadlines.

There a number of posts ranging in hours up to full time – 37.5 hours over 5 days. This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
