We are looking to recruit two Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPN) to work within Redbridge Community Recovery Teams. It is important to us that the successful candidate is an experienced professional, possessing a good knowledge of working with adults, their cares and family.

Is committed to developing and promoting evidence-based best practice, and be conversant with adult mental health interventions, the evolving needs of our service users, their carers and family. As a CPN you will be a registered health nurse, have an understanding of how multidisciplinary teams need to function and be passionate about delivering quality services.

The post is full time, offering excellent opportunities to develop special professional interests; share expertise and work closely with colleagues. Training, good support and partnership working is offered. Close relationships also exist with multi-agency partners and specialist services. The borough based Community Recover teams operational working hours is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. We are commitment to Agile working across the NELFT sites in accordance with trust policy and guidance. As minimum criteria all staff employed by the Trust should have a basic competency for numeracy and literacy equivalent to NVQ level 2.

For the main responsibilities of the post are: To act as care coordinator to clients referred to the service, in accordance with Care programme Approach (CPA) policy. Undertake comprehensive assessment of health and social needs together with the service users implement a plan of care and intervention to meet these needs, ensuring regular reviews are in place for evaluation of the care plan. To provide carer assessments to ensure carers and family are included and supported and in care planning.

To participate in carer focused education, family intervention approaches, support programmes and carers groups providing information about relevant legislation and carer’s rights. Within the CPA process monitor and assess the physical health of service users with mental illness in line with Trust policy and national guidelines To facilitate and implement the Trust and Local Authority requirements in relation to safeguarding children and guidance legislation within the Care Act 2014. To adhere to the requirements of the Safeguarding Adults policy.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
