NELFT is a research active trust which runs and hosts research across the breadth of our mental health and community health services. NELFT believes in the value of research for improving best practice and service user care whilst empowering staff, service users and carers to contribute to this development. NELFT currently hosts over 40 NIHR portfolio studies concerning a diverse range of conditions from dementia, psychosis and personality disorders to ADHD and autism to MND and MS.

Research at NELFT is supported by a dynamic and innovative Research and Development department working across all clinical areas and the full geography of NELFT. We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active, forward thinking and experienced Senior Research Assistant to join this friendly and supportive team. The role involves supporting recruitment to NIHR portfolio studies, carrying out relevant research duties, providing support and guidance to clinical studies officers, and contributing to departmental project work.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with a clinical background and experience of delivering CTIMPs (Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products). NELFT is developing its capacity to deliver CTIMPs and this role will be vital in progressing the necessary processes and delivery pathways, while continuing to maintain and expand our non-CTIMP portfolio of studies.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
