An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Ward Sister - Band 6 within the rehabilitation in-patient units and Stroke Unit at King George Hospital.

Exciting Senior leadership Opportunity! Are you interested in management? Have you got strong leadership skills? North East London Foundation Trust is looking for a very motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated and dynamic Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse to join our established Rehabilitation Units. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that patients are receiving the highest standards of rehabilitative care within a Community Hospital Intermediate Care Setting. They will work with a multidisciplinary team in partnership with patients, carers, secondary care and statutory / voluntary organisations. The successful candidate will have experience of working as a Band 5 for at least 2 years post registration experience.

The successful candidate will also have an interest in making a significant difference in patient care and experience with proven managerial and leadership skills. You will hold a Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice qualification or equivalent and understand the National agenda around Intermediate Care Services. The main responsibilities of the post: The role of the Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse is to provide clinical leadership and effective individualised nursing care for patients. To participate in the clinical education of all ward staff. The Clinical Wad Sister / Charge Nurse will work collaboratively with the ward manager to maintain ward budgets within the confines of the set yearly budgetary system. The post holder will work collaboratively with the ward manager and other members of the directorate to provide a comprehensive service for elderly patients within the clinical governance framework, maintaining an environment of continued improvement aimed at promoting patient focused care.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
