Rotational Physiotherapist

Permanent Full time : Band 5

Qualifying this year? Ready to start you physiotherapy career or want to experience a variety of rotations?

We are looking for highly motivated, passionate physiotherapists to join our Band 5 physiotherapy rotation scheme here at NELFT, London Sites. Our rotations last for 6 months and include opportunities to work within friendly and dynamic teams within musculoskeletal, neurology and general rehab in a variety of settings. During rotations within Neurology and general rehabilitation you will have the opportunity to assess, treat and manage respiratory and orthopaedic conditions too.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). 

The main responsibilities of the post are:

1.    To participate in the Band 5 rotational scheme across the trust in a range of settings (out-patient departments, health clinics, inpatient wards and patient homes).

2.    To perform a competent assessment of patients, including those with multiple pathologies, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to formulate a diagnosis based on the clinical findings of their condition. Working with access to direct supervision from a more senior physiotherapist.

3.    To develop and provide an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on best evidence based practice, the treatment options may include the use of manual techniques, exercise classes, electrotherapy techniques and other alternate options.

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. If you are shortlisted, invited for interview and successfully offered the post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
