An exciting opportunity to influence and contribute to the future development of Havering Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services in NELFT.

In Havering EIP we are looking to recruit a highly skilled, motivated and committed Practitioner to join our dynamic team at this challenging and exciting time. You will be a registered Occupational Therapist with mental health experience, possess an understanding of how multidisciplinary teams need to function and be passionate about delivering quality service.

It is important that the successful candidate is experienced and has a good knowledge of working with young adults, their carers and families. Also that they have an interest in developing and promoting evidence based practice within the team and setting high standards for service delivery.

The EIP practitioner is responsible for the co-ordination of clients aged between 14 and 65 experiencing First Episode Psychosis (FEP) and will hold a designated caseload.  They will support the team in ensuring service delivery is maintained on a day to day basis  and that it is delivered to a high standard of clinical care which is needs led and compliant with Care Programme Approach (CPA). The post holder will ensure NHS and Trust policy, procedures and guidance are carried out as routine practice, and will work efficiently and constructively with key partner organisations and colleagues.

The post is full time, offering excellent opportunities to develop special professional interests; share expertise and work closely with colleagues. Specialist training, good support and partnership working is offered. We have close working relationships with multi-agency partners such as Perinatal and CAMHS services.

The team operational working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, although some flexibility may be needed, a car driver would be desirable but not essential for the role.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,722 to a maximum of £4,743).
