Band 6 Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Acute and Rehabilitation Mental Health Occupational Therapy Team (A&RD MH OT). We provide 1:1 and group Occupational Therapy interventions to service users across the acute mental health care pathway; these interventions are provided in inpatient and community settings as well as the service user’s home.

All Occupational Therapists within the A&RD MH OT Team access the in-house CPD sessions and receive supervision from a Senior Occupational Therapist.   NELFT Occupational Therapists are offered other CPD opportunities as well including attendance at our annual Occupational Therapy Conference, Quality Improvement Training and external courses identified as part of the individual or service needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a thorough understanding of Occupational Therapy models as pertaining to acute mental illness
  • A strong commitment to Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion
  • Significant experience of working within acute mental health, developing and delivering a therapeutic programme
  • In conjunction with service users and the MDT continually work towards improving and maintaining high standards by initiating and developing new ideas and methods.
  • Build and maintain excellent communication with other members of the MDT, to promote the OT role for the benefit of the service users.
  • Work collaboratively with other Occupational Therapists in the A&RD MH OT Team to improve the overall Occupational Therapy provision to all patients across the pathway

We are looking for highly motivated, progressive Occupational Therapists who are able to contribute to our vibrate and welcoming team. If that sounds like you then we look forward to receiving your application!
