North East London NHS Foundation Trust Community Eating Disorder service is seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary Community Eating Disorder team. This service is unique in that it offers treatment “across the life span” from 8yrs with no upper age limit.

We are looking for RMN qualified applicants with an interest in working with adults and children and young people with an eating disorder.

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced Nurse Specialist to join our community Eating Disorder Team. As a Nurse Specialist you will be working directly with our service users, as well as supporting their families/carers.

You will be working alongside the multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, developing and coordinating care plans, providing direct therapeutic interventions and specialist consultation and advice.

The role will specifically entail working with adults ,children and young people and their families while supporting them in their recovery.

Key roles and responsibilities:
• Operating as named clinician for a group of clients under the supervision of the team Manager.
• Providing high quality evidence-based and individualised mental health care to a clearly defined group of patients, relatives and carers.
• Working and acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting each service user in achieving planned outcomes.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Assessment/Interview info

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,659 to a maximum of £4,664).
