Director, Quality Governance

We are looking for a compassionate, inclusive and effective clinician to provide strategic leadership to the Trust’s Quality Governance arrangements.   As a senior leader, you will be expected to understand and positively influence organisational culture and politics and work strategically across several changing and evolving healthcare systems.  You will seek out varied information and use the information to generate new ideas that make up effective plans for risk management and quality and safety improvements.  You will be open and inquisitive for information, investigating what’s happening now and be keen to develop proposals for future improvement.

As a member of the Chief Nurse Group you will work with the Directors of Nursing, AHP and Psychology to set out the strategic direction of good governance and management. You will provide accurate reports, information and key performance measurements on quality and safety to the Trust Board and sub committees that will be vital for the effectiveness of the Trust Board quality and safety oversight.

You will act as a positive role model who builds capability to enable people to meet future challenges; you will encourage research/thematic reviews to understand the root cause of risk and display confidence and integrity in your challenges of others.

You will be competent in Risk and Incident reporting, and be able to deliver a mature approach to risk management and assurance.  As the first point of contact for the CQC you will need to have experience of working in a mental health care organisation to appreciate the full extent of delivering acute mental health care within a hospital and community setting.
