NELFT provides community health and specialist mental health and learning disability services for people living in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, and community health services for people living in south west Essex. NELFT also provides an Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Service for children and young people across the whole of Essex, as well as all age eating disorder services and child and adolescent mental health services across Kent and Medway.

Job title: Consultant Psychiatrist – in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Barking and Dagenham CAMHS - This post is a replacement post and carries 10 PAs and is based at the Child and family Centre, Axe Street in Barking.

The post holder will provide medical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team. The successful consultant will provide at least monthly supervision for the Speciality Doctor. The post will attract 2.5 PAs for Supporting Professional Activity (CPD, etc).

B&D CAMHS receive referrals via the Single Point of Access from GPs, schools, social services, other health services for children and Brookside, Adolescent in-patient unit. The post holder will be expected to provide cross cover for other consultants for study and annual leave.

The post holder will be personally accountable to Dr Mohan Bhat, Associate Medical Director for Barking and Dagenham Integrated Care Directorate.
